Past

In the beginning there was only the void, but there was a consciousness within this emptiness. This consciousness had a desire to fill this emptiness with other consciousness and begun to fling his thoughts out in order to do just this, but these thoughts always faded away before these consciousness could take form. The void knew in order for these thoughts to become beings that he had to keep them from fading into nothing. Finally, he decided to place pieces of his own essence into three of the thoughts he flung out into the emptiness. That was just what was needed. His essence kept those thoughts from fading away, and they became six--not three-- distinct life form. Through, the two that came from the same seed are extremely connected.

These six lifeforms became the six warlord of the void. They, however, were not the only beings that came into existence that day. When the void broke off pieces of his essence to put into those thoughts that he cast out the tiniest fragments broke off, clung to his linger desire and became the other denizens of the void. Another way for other consciousness came into being was when the three became six, tiny fragments broke off and grew into other consciousness. However, some might argue, the most remarkable was still growing within the void. No one knew that she was there until one day she burst out of the him. She was the light, and it was clear that she was different from the other denizens of the void--including the six warlords.

It did not become clear how different until she gave birth to the void's son. The six warlords tried to bring life into existence this way, but they found they could not, at least not with each other. It appeared that this was a trait unique to the light herself, and she begun to wonder if she could create life in a similar manner that the void had--with, more or less, just a thought. It turned out that she could. She created the world of Asmiara and witches to populated. She let her creation free upon this world that she had made for them, curious to see how they would grow. She did not release them without tools to help them along their journey. She created six creative concepts that she believed they would need to develop as a people. She, also, asked the six warlords to take the role of destructive concepts for the witches.

She knew in order to ensure the survival of her creation that they needed to bring them into the void, and she assigned the destructive concepts with the task of doing just that. At first, the witches lived within a vast circular city divided into twelve sections. These twelve sections were ruled by either the creative concepts or a chosen of the destructive concept. These leaders would get together, and create laws or make decisions that benefited the city as a whole. Through, it was creative concepts whom made majority of the decision for the city as a whole. Eventually, these creative concept showed that they were capable of creating life in the same manner that the light and void had been. They each created an unique species that would spread out and populate the world of Asmiara.

The first creative concept to create a species was magic. She created dragons. At first, she only created one. This dragon was her constant companion--her best friend. She eventually decided to create dragons for the other six creative concept and for the light and void. She embedded within them aspects of the ones she created them for. It was from the first black dragon that Rioghnan came from. She was named Kiara, and she watched as the other dragons classification grew with numbers. She desired for other black dragons and wondered if she could bring them into being like the void had with the six warlords of the void, or the other denizens of the void or even the light herself.

It turned out that she could. She ended up creating Rioghnan the same manner that the void had created the light. Like the void, she did not realize that he was growing inside of her until he burst free from her. The only thing she knew was any attempt she made to create other black dragons failed, but when Rioghnan emerged from her that all changed. She now could create other black dragons by breaking off pieces of her own essence. Whether or not she always possessed this ability and the creation of Rio boosted her confidence enough to do this is a story for another day. Rioghnan became her mate, her king, and the father of the black dragon--both spiritually and physically. Kiara and he had several children together. One, whom would become a queen of the void, but this would not come to pass until after the destructive of that great circular city that had been the center of Asmiara.

This destruction came in the shape that even concepts or the light or void had not foreseen. The first purple dragon had twin sons--one whom had the ability to feel the world around him. He was emphatic to the feeling of everyone and everything within the world. However, he had the help of his own twin brother and a woman named Sloane, whom he was engaged to be married. However, Sloane decided that she rather be with his brother and this betrayal made the weight of his abilities too much to bare. He decided that the only way to end his pain was to end the pain of the world, and he decided to rewrite the world in order to end its pain. A great war broke out, and the creative concepts decided to give up their own lives in order to seal him away within a pocket world inside a dagger. They hoped that here he would be able to heal from the pain of the betrayal of his brother and the woman he loved.

The death of the creative concepts left a vacuum within the witches' society that many tried to fill, but none could agree upon whom was right for the job, and there were those that saw this vacuum as a way to gain power. It appeared that the concepts sacrifice had been vain. It appeared that the world they gave their life to save was going to be destroyed. Some of the witches realized this. They gathered their people and fled the great circular city, getting as far away from it as possible in hope of avoiding the explosion that they knew was coming. These witches were not the only one that were able to sense what was coming. Various members of the other species sensed it as well. Kiara and Rioghnan decided to take their people into the void in order to avoid the explosion that was going to come from all the fighting.

This explosion never arrived, at least not in the manner that everyone had been expecting. Sloane stopped it from becoming that. She locked all those whom she believed were directly responsible for this impending explosion away and drove them insane until they destroyed themselves. She than rewrote the history of the world so there were only ever six original clan instead of twelve. She allowed the witches that fled before she decided to rewrite the history of the world to remain hidden. However, she knew that she had to keep the great circular city hidden as well as the true history of the world. She believed that if the truth was discovered that it would only spell destruction for the world. She asked the king of the elves--a man whom loved her a great deal--to stay guard over the city and keep anyone from discovering it. He agreed, and had his people build their society around the city.

While she could put into place ways for new generations from discovering the truth she could not prevent those whom had seen the creative concepts walk among them from revealing the truth. She might be able to stop some of them, but stopping all of them was impossible. She had to trust that they would understand what she was trying to do and keep that secret. It appeared that most of them did, and those that didn't were easily dealt with. Sometimes by Sloane. Other times by those like Rioghnan, whom saw where their world was heading and wanted to prevent it from returning to that path.

When the creative concepts died everyone--more or less--thought they would never return. The popular theory was they became nothing more than energy that spread across Asmiara to provide for it and their people all the things they might need. They might be those that might hold a small hope that they would return--that the concept would walk among them, but they didn't know if that hope was all in vain. At least not until the concept were reborn. They never knew whom they once were, and those whom did never revealed the truth for them. They decided that the truth will come to them when they are ready for it, at least that is the reason for Rioghnan for not telling his daughter--the very same one whom became queen of the void--that she was the concept of magic. It was, also, the reason he gave to himself when others whom had known the creative concept reborn didn't reveal the truth of whom they are.

Rioghnan loved his daughter whom was the concept of magic reborn. He loved all his children, but the bond he shared with her was much deeper than the ones he shared with majority of his other children. She would often be found tagging along on whatever 'quest' he decided to embark upon. These quest as she would often call them would often take them into the void, and it was here where she met the void and fall in love with him. They were eventually married and she lived as his queen until death came for her. Rioghnan was devastated by her death, but he knew that she would be reborn again. If her soul had found it way to Asmiara once it would do it again.

Time moved on until Kiara decided to travel to the human kingdom of Adrealia. She heard of a great warrior there, and being a warrior herself she wished to see if there were any truth to these rumors. There was, but she found more than a skilled warrior that day. She found a man whom she would fall in love with. They lived together for awhile. She even gave birth to a son, but not everyone was happy with this relationship. They believed that their queen was demeaning herself by being with a human. Some even came to believe that she was destroying their people to be with him, and thus set out to find a way to end it. They found one. They convinced her human lover to kill her by making him believe that she had betrayed him.

Upon hearing what they have done, Rioghnan was outraged. They were foolish children lashing wildly about with no idea of the consequences of their actions. The death they brought upon their queen was one that she wasn't going to return from, and they needed their queen to survive. For, the black dragons their queen was more than a leader. She was their brain--no heart--and without her the only path they could walk was one of utter annihilation. Rioghnan thought about leaving them to that fate. It was what they deserved for their crimes, but he knew that Kiara would not want to condemn those not responsible for this crime--especially the children--to this fate. He, also, believed that if anyone decide what their punishment should be it should be her. She was their queen, and it has always been by her will whether or not they lived or died, and it should continue to be that way.

He brought her back by gathering her scattered essence from the cosmos and binding them together using his own life force. He did not know what would become of him once he did this. He did not know if he would take her place as nothing more than scattered fragments floating across the cosmos, but he was willing to endure such a fate if it meant that she didn't have to suffer it. That ended up not being the price he had to pay for saving her. Instead, he was banished inside the void and unable to enter the physical world expect for one week every five hundred years. He came to value that week greatly. It meant that he could touch those that he loved. No, it meant more than that. It meant that he could hold conversations with them.

Over the course of time, he learned how to influence more and more control over the physical world. It was never as much control as he had within the void, or the physical world if he was actually there, but with enough focus and he could cause something to move just the slightest. He learned how to move things more, and some part of him wonder if someday the limitations he has now will no longer be there. Whether or not this is wishful thinking, he used this ability to aid his loved when they found themselves in sticky situation or to send them messages of his love. However, his life wasn't just looking into the physical world wishing that he could walk its plane. He made the most of his life within the void.

He gained control of a sections within the void, and built a kingdom where he ruled with absolute authority. It didn't take long for his kingdom to be filled with subjects. While the void had one supreme leader--a high king that ruled over the entirety of the void, the void was broken into smaller kingdom ruled by those strong enough to hold great influences over their section of the void. The degree of this influence varied from ruler to ruler. Some were still bound by the physical law of the void, but had ultimate say over their subjects. Others had control over everything--including the laws of physics which governed their world. It was what the light did when she created Asmiara, and it was what Rioghnan did when he created his own kingdom.

His kingdom became known as the abyss, and the only way that his world really different from the lights was he did not create people to populate it. His population came from others within the void or the physical world that was drawn to his kingdom, and decided they wished to live underneath his leadership. Once they surrender to his dominance they begun to chance. Their physiology reflected more of what Rioghnan had became during his imprisonment within the void. He had evolved into a new classification of dragons, and those whom became his subjects did the same thing. They did so even if they weren't originally dragons. Rioghnan still considers himself a black dragon, but there are those that will claim that is no longer true--especially if they learn that he had become for the abyssal dragons what Kiara had been for the black and that she no longer have influence over him. She can kill him, but she would have to physically do it instead of simply willing it.

Present
He have taken many lovers throughout the passage of time. Some from the void. Others within the abyss, and finally a few upon Asmiara when he could walk its surface. His most recent Asmiaran lover was a witch named Dahlia Paxton. She became pregnant with his child, but she would no see that child grow. Her twin sister manipulated things so she could gain custody of their daughter, and have Dahlia locked away within a mental institution. Dahlia hadn't been completely obvious to her sister's plan. She had sense it coming, and made preparations to protect both her children from her sister's influence.

When Dahlia gave birth to Rioghnan's daughter she, also, gave birth to a witch named Kyrell Giese's son. Dahlia managed to get her son to safety, but her sister leaped into action before she could do the same for her daughter. Her sister claimed her daughter as her own. A little girl that was named Everleigh. She convinced Everleigh and the world that she was Kyrell Giese's daughter. Whether or not she knew the truth of whom Everleigh's biological father's identity is another story. It was possible that she did, but didn't care or that she convinced herself otherwise. Whatever the cause she forced Everleigh to endure horrible experiments. These experiments were done to make Everleigh strong enough not to succumb to death. She had come to love Everleigh like a daughter, and did not wish to lose her like she had another child.

Rioghnan watched his daughter endure this torment. He was powerless to stop it. A fact that hurt him more than words can express. He wanted nothing more than to save his daughter from that horror, but he tried to provide her comfort through the means that he had. It eventually came to his attention that he had more power to help his daughter than he thought. He brought it to Kyrell's attention that he had a daughter, or rather he convinced a servant of the household to share this information with the man. Just as Rioghnan had hoped. Kyrell rescued his daughter, and she settled within her life as Kyrell Giese's daughter. At first, the world did not know her connection to Kyrell's daughter. Kyrell decided that it was best to keep this information a secret, but eventually Everleigh revealed the truth to the world.

She had grown into a quite remarkable woman, whom became the head of the Paxton clan. It, also, came to Rioghnan's attention that she was the reincarnation of magic, and unlike the other time she had been physically his daughter she learned that she was the concept of magic. In fact, all the concepts have been reborn and discovered the truth of their identity. However, Everleigh was the first to regain all the power she had lost when they concept gave up their lives to save their people. This Ascension came after Rioghnan revealed to her that he--not Kyrell--was biological her father. News that devastated her greatly as she had taken great stock into being Kyrell's daughter, and it made the injuries that came about from the experiments the woman she believed was her mother forced her to endure to spike back up.

Some might believe that he didn't need to tell her this truth--that he was being selfish. And perhaps he was, but he just wished for her to know the truth of her heritage and what that meant. More than that, he wanted to be able to claim her as his daughter. He wanted to shout it into the cosmos, and have everyone and everything to know that he was the proud father of the most remarkable woman within the universe. Her body unable to withstand the strain of what had been done to it eventually succumb to death, and Everleigh decided to allow her essence to spread across the cosmos and provide everyone with a tiny piece of happiness.

However, the cries of her loved ones convinced her to do otherwise. She gathered her scattered pieces and rebuilt herself. It wasn't just pieces of herself that she used to recreate the new her. She took pieces of those she had came to see as her father and mother, and used those pieces to recreate herself. If one looked at her genetic make-up each and every last one of these people would come back as being biologically her parent. More than that she ascended, but for Rioghnan her coming back gave him a chance to try to form a relationship with her. He has no idea what the future has in store for them. He has no idea if they would become as close as they were the last time she had been born as his daughter. He just know that he loves her, and he is willing to see where the future takes their relationship.
